The grapes were picked late (at 26º brix) for a style which emphasises ripe Gewurztraminer flavours. It was then fermented to moderately high alcohol to yield a wine with spicy, floral and tropical aromas. The palate shows full, ripe, lush flavours - tropical fruits, pears, mandarin peel, fruit-cake spices - and some sweetness to complement the rounded palate and oily texture. It is suitable for drinking by itself, with most cheeses or with rich food such as pâtés, roast pork and some Asian dishes. |
