The combination of very low temperatures and high winds during flowering for the 1997 vintage resulted in low cropping levels (particularly in exposed sites and for sensitive varieties). The months of harvest were dry, and our fruit was able to be held to optimum maturity in what was a cooler than average year. The seasonal conditions and cropping levels have resulted in wines with elegant, intense varietal flavours and very good prospects for development. |
